The UNESCO city of Malacca, lies south of the capital of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. It takes 2 hours to arrive by bus from the airport. Malacca is famous for its street art, river, colonial history and of course it’s amazing food.
With such a blend of many cultures, there are some amazing cuisines to try when visiting this historic city. It is an easy city to spend a few days and very walkable. We were staying in the old town area just by the river which was the perfect spot to walk along the river and discover many street arts, meet local people and sit at many of the cafes looking onto the water.
For dinner, we chose a restaurant just down from our accommodation on a street corner just opposite the Little India area. We were all excited to try the vegetarian set which was presented on a banana leaf: 3 different curries, rice, pappadam and a raita. We ate with our hands and drank an amazing mango lassi too. This meal cost RM 8, which is around 2.50 AUD.
