Meat, rice, herbs and spice – a food fest emphasizing on this could only mean one thing! Yes, we’re talking of the Hyderabadi Food Festival at Fairfield Marriott, Rajajinagar, Bangalore. To take their constant experiments with food a step ahead, the property come ups with food festivals such as this one, on and off. Calling Master Chefs all the way from Hyderabad, Kava sure has dedicated the month-end to making the food of the Nizams. Let’s dive in for a gourmet tour of the legacy!

The food fest:
Kava has gone the traditional way to serve their dishes in pots and pans made of copper. They have gone out of their way to recreate the magical experience of the city. Although emphasis has been laid on meat and related dishes, there are options for vegetarians as well. The menu is cyclic and promising, with a new dish every day, in order to incorporate nearly every Hyderabadi dish by the end of the festival.
Lyf&Spice – Key highlights of Day 1:
Pathar ka Ghosht – Mutton cooked on stone
Haleem – Thick paste made from meat, wheat, lentils
Kaddu ki Kheer – Pumpkin milk pudding
Shahi Tukda or Double ka Meetha – Bread pudding with milk and cardamom
Hyderabadi Dum Biryani
Main course: This comprised of Machi kalyan, Dum ka murgh, Gosht aur arbi ka salan, Tali hui machli, Kakori kebab, Machli begam bahar, Lamb keema khasta chop, Nizami hundi, Paneer khurchan, Steamed rice, Kava dal, Babri raan, Nalli nihari, Til panner
Dessert: Mysore pak, kesar peda, coconut burfi, blackforest, strawberry, chocolate, pineapple pastries


More: Besides these, they serve Paya shorba, have a live pasta counter, a variety of pickles like mango, lemon, mixed vegetable and other accompaniments like fryums, chips, papad, mint chutney, salan and raita.
Service:The service was excellent! The staff at the restaurant was courteous, prompt and ready to help!
Decor: Colourful drapes at the live counters, Hyderabad-themed decor … as you walk along the artistic pillars to the archway that leads to the buffet.
